Speaking to his and Abrahams F3-team principal Franz Tost (now principal of the TORO ROSSO/RED BULL F1- team: Vettel, Ricciardo) during some F3-tests in 1986: "No F1-driver could take the new, break-neck chicane at start/finish more cleanly, boldly, or more quickly than Franz has already been doing after only a few laps. He’s fully in control of being over the limit, each of his laps is identical. With his car, I was four tenths of a second slower per lap than him—I don’t have a clue where he finds those seconds! If only his engine wasn’t so poor…"

1986 zu seinem und Abrahams F3-Teamchef Franz Tost (heute F1-Teamchef TORO ROSSO/RED BULL: Vettel, Ricciardo) bei Formel-3-Testfahrten 1986: „Kein F1-Fahrer könnte die neu gebaute, schnelle Start-Ziel-Schikane sauberer, härter und schneller anbremsen und durchfahren als Franz es nach wenigen Runden schon tut. Das ist kontrolliertes Over-Limit, jede Runde identisch. Ich war mit seinem Auto 4 Zehntel langsamer pro Runde, keine Ahnung wo er die holt. Wenn nur sein Motor nicht so schlecht wäre...“
